Black Lake in the Municipality of Žabljak in northern Montenegro, is a three-hour panoramic drive from the Resort. During your drive, you will be able to witness the shift of three different climate and vegetation: Mediterranean, Continental, and Northern.
The Black Lake, or popularly called “The Mountain Eyes of Durmitor,” is a stunning glacial lake surrounded by a thick pine forest, which casts a perfect reflection in the mirror-like surface of the lake, at an elevation of 1,416 m. The snowcapped Medjed mountain peak, rising to a
height of 2287m, provides the perfect backdrop to the spectacular scenery.
Black Lake is the best known, and in same time largest of 18 glacial lakes in the National Park. More than 3 km long walking path around the lake is very enjoyable for a light hike and recreation, which sums into a three-hour+ activity, with micro-climate temperatures dropping
about 4 degrees less than outside the locality.
After a pleasant hike on the clean and brisk mountain air, you may enjoy traditional northern lunch in on of the restaurants in Žabljak or on the lake side.
